vṛṇotervaraṇārthatvājjāgratsvapnādivarjitaṃ /
nityaśuddhabuddhamekaṃ satyantaddhīmahīśvaraṃ //
Because the root vṛ means 'to choose', [it is that which is] devoid of waking, dreaming, and the rest;
eternal, pure, conscious, one, and true: upon that Lord we meditate ('dhīmahi').
