abhayaṃ bhakṣayantyaś ca gāvo dattās tathā svakāḥ /
tyaktasnehāḥ svavatseṣu garbhakṣayakarā matāḥ //
And cows that eat fearlessly, as well as those given away as one's own, [are auspicious]; / those lacking affection for their calves are considered to cause loss of the womb.
