lalāṭapuṭasaṃsthānaṃ daṇḍaṃ lakṣye niveśayet /
ākṛṣya tāḍayettatra candrakaṃ ṣoḍaśāṅgulam //
He should place the shaft in line with the target at the level of the forehead; / having drawn back, he should strike the ring target of sixteen finger-breadths there.
