muktvā vāṇaṃ tataḥ paścādulkāśikṣastadā tayā /
nigṛhṇīyān madhyamayā tato 'ṅgulyā punaḥ punaḥ //
Having released the arrow, one wishing to learn the firebrand [speed] should then repeatedly / check [the bowstring] with that [hand], with the middle finger.
