hīnajātiṃ parikṣīṇamṛṇārthaṃ karma kārayet /
brāhmaṇastu parikṣīṇaḥ śanair dāpyo yathodayam //
One of lower caste who is impoverished should be made to perform labour for the debt; / but an impoverished brāhmaṇa must be made to pay gradually, according to his income.
