vāgīśena ca śakrasya balaṃ hantuṃ prayāsyataḥ /
tasya svarūpaṃ vakṣyāmi tattvaṃ śṛṇu jayādimat //
and by the Lord of Speech [Bṛhaspati] for Indra when he set out to slay Bala. / I shall explain its nature; hear its reality, which bestows victory and other blessings.
