pādāntā vanamālā syādaṣṭottrasahasrataḥ(1) /
mālā tu kalpasādhyaṃ vā dviguṇaṃ ṣoḍaśāṅgulāt //
Reaching to the feet, it is a forest garland, made of a thousand and eight [threads]; / or the garland may be made according to ritual rule, double that of sixteen finger-breadths.
