prārambhaś ca prayatnaś ca prāptiḥ sadbhāva eva ca /
niyatā ca phalaprāptiḥ phalayogaś ca pañcamaḥ //
Beginning (prārambha), effort (prayatna), possibility of attainment (prāptisadbhāva),
certainty of attainment (niyatā phalaprāpti), and the fifth is the attainment of the fruit (phalayoga).
