sattvādiguṇasantānājjāyante paramātmanaḥ /
rāgādbhavati śṛṅgāro raudrastaikṣṇāt prajāyate //

They arise from the series of qualities such as sattva belonging to the Supreme Self:
the erotic arises from passion (rāga); the furious (raudra) arises from sharpness;
