yajet snātvā tu madhyāhne aṣṭapuṣpikayā śivaṃ /
pīṭhamūrtiśivāṅgānāṃ pūjā syādaṣṭapuṣpikā //
Having bathed at midday, he should worship Śiva with the eight-flower offering (aṣṭapuṣpikā);
the worship of the pedestal, the icon, and Śiva's limbs constitutes the eight-flower offering.
