nijayāgaṃ(7) jagannātha rakṣa bhaktānukampayā /
ebhiḥ saṃśrāvya rakṣārthaṃ kumbhe khaḍgaṃ niveśayet(8) //
"O Lord of the Universe, protect your own sacrifice out of compassion for your devotees!" / Having proclaimed [this] with these [words] for the sake of protection, one should place a sword upon the water-jar.
