yayā sammohito jīva ātmānaṃ triguṇātmakam /
paro 'pi manute 'narthaṃ tatkṛtaṃ cābhipadyate //
5. And deluded by her (Maya), the Jiva, though different from her, thinks himself as consisting of the three gunas, and, is (thereby) subject to the evil (consequences) produced by it (the notion).
