vrajaṃs tiṣṭhan padaikena yathaivaikena gacchati /
yathā tṛṇa-jalaukaivaṃ dehī karma-gatiṃ gataḥ //

40. Just as a man walks with one foot fixed while the other is advanced and just as the leech, taking hold of a piece of straw, moves on, so also does an embodied Jiva thrown into the current of Karma.
