10.4.4

tam āha bhrātaraṃ devī kṛpaṇā karuṇaṃ satī /
snuṣeyaṃ tava kalyāṇa striyaṃ mā hantum arhasi //

3. Up from his bed instantly started he (thinking), "It is just time to kill" [or "He is my Yama",] and in great bewilderment ran in haste with tottering steps and dishevelled hair to the room of confinement. 4. In her wretched plight the virtuous Devaki pitifully said to her brother, "This is thy daugter-in-law, O blessed brother, it is not fit that thou killest a female child".
