catur-yuga-sahasraṃ tu brahmaṇo dinam ucyate /
sa kalpo yatra manavaś caturdaśa viśām-pate //
2. A thousand revolutions of the four Yugas make a day (the day) of Brahma’s life; and that period of time is Kalpa, during which fourteen Manus successively rule the world, O lord of man.
