āyurharati vai puṃsām udyann astaṃ ca yann asau /
tasyarte yatkṣaṇo nīta uttamaślokavārtayā //
17. The sun rising and setting (as he rises and sets day after day) steals (wastes away) the life of man (without any profit to him), save the time that is spent in discoursing upon the *Uttamasloka* (Hari).
