3.23.56

neha yat karma dharmāya na virāgāya kalpate /
na tīrtha-pada-sevāyai jīvann api mṛto hi saḥ //

56. That person is really dead though breathing alive, whose activity in this world does not tend towards Dharma and thereby to renunciation and to the worship of the hallowed feet of Hari.
