yadābhiṣikto dakṣas tu brahmaṇā parameṣṭhinā /
prajāpatīnāṃ sarveṣām ādhipatye smayo 'bhavat //
2. Indeed, when Daksha was installed as the Lord of all the Prajāpatis by Brahma, the highest among the gods, he became puffed up (lit pride sprang in him).
