tat paśyatāṃ khe bhuvi cādbhutaṃ mahad hā heti vādaḥ sumahān ajāyata /
hanta priyā daivatamasya devī jahāv asūn kena satī prakopitā //

28. Great was the uproar which arose from the people both in the sky and on the earth who saw that remarkable and wonderful sight: Alas! Satī, the queen of the highest God, has thrown away her life, being angered by Daksha.
