yaṃ vinirjitya kṛcchreṇa viṣṇuḥ kṣmoddhāra āgatam /
ātmānaṃ jayinaṃ mene tadvīryaṃ bhūry anusmaran //

6. At the time of lifting up the earth, Vishnu with difficulty defeated him (Hiranyaksha) who offered resistance, and thinking his strength immense, did not think himself a victor.
