hotre 'dadāddiśaṃ prācīṃ brahmaṇe dakṣiṇāṃ prabhuḥ /
adhvaryave pratīcīṃ vā uttarāṃ sāmagāya saḥ //
2. At the conclusion of the sacrifices, he gave all the eastern portion of his empire to Hotri, the south to Brahman, the west to Adhvaryu and the north to the priest that sang Sama hymns.
