ācāryāya dadau śeṣāṃ yāvatī bhūstadantarā /
anyamāna idaṃ kṛtsnaṃ brāhmaṇo 'rhati niḥspṛhaḥ //
3. To his preceptor he gave the remaining portion of the land at the centre, thinking that only the brahmin free from desires deserved it all.
