evaṃ gate 'tha sudyumne manurvaivasvataḥ sute /
putrakāmastapastepe yamunāyāṃ śataṃ samāḥ //

1. Sri Suka said.—When his son Sudyumna was thus gone, Manu, son of Vivasvat, desirous of issue, performed for a century tapas on the banks of (immersed in the waters of) the Yamuna.
