māṃsaṃ gṛdhraḥ paṭaṃ śvitrī cīrī lavaṇahārakaḥ /
yathākarma phalaṃ prāpya tiryaktvaṃ kālaparyayāt //
[Stealing] meat, a vulture; [stealing] cloth, a person with leukoderma; a stealer of salt becomes a cricket. / Having attained the fruit according to their actions, [they enter] the animal state through the lapse of time.
