mārgaśīrṣe tathā śuklacaturthyāṃ pūjayedgaṇa /
abdaṃ prāpnoti vidyāśrīkīrtyāyuḥ putrasantatim //
Likewise, one should worship the Gaṇa on the bright fourth in Mārgaśīrṣa;
for a year [he worships, and] obtains knowledge, fortune, fame, long life, and lineage of sons.
