aṣṭamī budhavāreṇa pakṣayorubhayoryadā /
bhaviṣyati tadā tasyāṃ vratametatkathā parā //
When an eighth day falls on a Wednesday in either of the two fortnights,
then the narrative of this observance [to be performed] on it is supreme.
