daśamyāmekabhaktāśī samānte daśadhenudaḥ /
diśaśca kāñcanīrdattvā brahmāṇḍādhipatirbhavet //
(Thus the Damanakanavamī observance.)
Brahmā said: / Eating once a day on the tenth, giving ten cows at the year's end, / and giving golden directions, one becomes the lord of the universe.
