(iti digdaśamīvratam) brahmovāca /
ekādaśyāmṛṣipūjā kāryā sarvopakārikā /
dhanavānputravāṃścānte ṛṣiloke mahīyate //
(Thus the Digdaśamī observance.) Brahmā said: / On the eleventh lunar day, worship of the sages should be performed, which brings all benefits. / One becomes wealthy, blessed with sons, and at last is glorified in the world of the sages:
