śrīgaruḍamahāpurāṇam- 138
(iti vratāni samāptāni) /
hariruvāca /
rājñāṃ vaṃśānpravakṣyāmi vaṃśānucaritāni ca /
viṣṇunābhyabjato brahmā dakṣo 'ṅguṣṭhācca tasya vai //

Hari said:
I shall proclaim the dynasties of kings and the deeds of their lineages.
From Viṣṇu's navel-lotus arose Brahmā, and Dakṣa from his thumb.
