haste baddhaṃ kāṇḍayuktaṃ kaṇṭhe baddhaṃ grahādihṛt /
kṛṣṇāyāntu caturdaśyāṃ kaṭibaddhaṃ samāhṛtam /
siṃhādiśvāpadādbhītiṃ harecca nīlalohita //

Tied to the hand with its stem, or tied to the neck, it removes grahas and the like; / gathered on the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight and tied around the waist, / it removes fear from wild beasts like lions, O Nīlalohita.
