brahmādistambaparyantaṃ jagattṛpyatu /
oṃ pitṛbhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ /
oṃ pitāmahebhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ /
oṃ prapitāmahebhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ /
oṃ mātṛbhyaḥ svadhānamaḥ /
oṃ pitāmahībhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ /
oṃ prapitāmahībhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ /
oṃ mātāmahebhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ /
oṃ pramātāmahebhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ /
oṃ vṛddhapramātāmahebhyaḥ svadhānamaḥ tṛpyatāmiti /
udīratāmavara utparāso unmadhyamāḥ pitaraḥ somyāsaḥ /
asuṃya īyuravṛkā ṛtajñāsteno 'vantupitarohaveṣu /
gotroccāraṇena prathamāñjaliḥ pituḥ /
oṃ aṅgiraso naḥ pitarodṛ- /
atharvāṇobhṛgavaḥdṛ - /
teṣāṃ vayaṃ sumatau yajñiyānāṃ api bhadre saumanase syāma /
oṃ āyantu naḥ pitaraḥ saumyāsogniṣvāttāḥ pathibhirdevayānaiḥ /
asminyajñe svadhayā madanto 'dhibruvantu te 'vantvasmān //

May the universe from Brahmā down to a blade of grass be satisfied! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the ancestors! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the grandfathers! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the great-grandfathers! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the mothers! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the paternal grandmothers! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the paternal great-grandmothers! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the maternal grandfathers! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the maternal great-grandfathers! / Oṃ, svadhā, homage to the maternal great-great-grandfathers, may they be satisfied! / 'May the lower, may the higher, may the middle Soma-loving ancestors arise; / may those who have reached life, harmless, knowers of cosmic order, protect us, ancestors, in our invocations.' / With the utterance of the lineage name, [this is] the first handful of water for the father. / 'Oṃ, may the ancestors, our Aṅgirases […], / the Atharvans, the Bhṛgus […], / may we abide in the goodwill of those worthy of sacrifice, and in their gracious benevolence! / Oṃ, may our Soma-loving Agniṣvātta ancestors come along the paths travelled by the gods; / delighting in the svadhā offering at this sacrifice, may they speak on our behalf, may they protect us!'
