dvādaśāhopavāsena parākaḥ sarvapāpahā /
ekaikaṃ vardhayetpiṇḍaṃ śukle kṛṣṇe ca hrāsayet //
Through a fast of twelve days, the parāka removes all sins. / He should increase by one morsel [daily] during the light fortnight, and decrease it during the dark fortnight.
