mṛtasthāne śavo nāma tena nāmnā pradīyate /
tena dattena tṛpyanti gṛhavāstvadhidevatāḥ //
At the place of death, it is called Śava; by that name it is offered;
by that offering, the presiding deities of the household site are satisfied.
