vedaistulya sama pāṭhe śravaṇe ca tadardhakam /
arthataḥ śravaṇe cāsya puṇyaṃ daśaguṇaṃ smṛtam //
Its recitation is fully equal to the Vedas, and its hearing yields half of that. / And from hearing it with understanding of the meaning, the merit is remembered to be tenfold.
