svāhāṃ vinirmame brahmā tāmāhurmantradevatām /
agneranantaraṃ vīndra bhṛguṃ brahmarṣisattamam //

Brahmā fashioned Svāhā; they call her the deity of mantras.
After Agni, O best of birds, [he created] Bhṛgu, the best of divine seers;
