īśānakoṇe saṃsthito yastu rudro hyavāpa vai vāmadeveti saṃjñām /
svavāmabhāge saṃsthitaṃ caiva vāyustaṃ yogyabhaktaṃ sevate sarvadaiva //

Rudra, who is situated in the north-eastern quarter, indeed obtained the name Vāmadeva;
