ato rudro vāmadeveti saṃjñā mavāpa śiṣṭatvamathottamatvam /
kālātmakatvaṃ ca balātmakatvamavāpa rudro na tu suṃdaratvataḥ //

Therefore Rudra obtained the name Vāmadeva, as well as excellence and supremacy;
and Rudra attained the nature of time and the nature of strength, but not from beauty.
