pāṇigrahaṃ lakṣmaṇāyāśca kṛtvā gatvā purīṃ ramayāmāsa devī /
tathaivāhaṃ jāṃbavatyā vivāhaṃ matpatnītve kāraṇaṃ tvāṃ bravīmi //
I took Lakṣmaṇā's hand in marriage, went to my city, and took delight in the goddess. / In the very same way, I tell you the reason for my marriage to Jāmbavatī and her becoming my wife.
