śaśvatkeśā yasya gātre khagendra prabhāsyante śarabhākhyo payotaḥ /
yamasya bhāryā śyāmalā yā khagendra yasmātsadā kalibhāryāpiyā ca //
He on whose body hair constantly shines, O King of Birds, is called Śarabha, and thereafter / the wife of Yama is Śyāmalā, O King of Birds, because she is always the wife of Kali and dear to him.
