tataḥ śaktiḥ pṛthivyātmā śanaiścarati sarvadā /
ataḥ śanaiścaro nāma uṣāyāśca daśādhamāḥ //
Thence is Śakti, the soul of the earth; he always moves slowly (śanaiḥ); / therefore his name is Śanaiścara, and he is tenfold lower than Uṣā.
