ato nāhaṃ brāhmaṇastvādikālādupādhisaṃbandhavaśādajñatācet /
sarvajñosau kutra pakṣīndra viṣṇuralpajñajīvo jñānaśūnyaśca kutra //
Therefore, if [you argue that] ignorance arises because of connection with an adjunct (upādhi) from beginningless time, [such as:] 'I am not a brāhmaṇa'— / where is that omniscient Viṣṇu, O King of Birds, and where is the individual soul (jīva), of little knowledge and devoid of wisdom?
