*śatānīka uvāca
yayātiḥ pūrvajo 'smākaṃ daśamo yaḥ prajāpateḥ
kathaṃ sa śukratanayāṃ lebhe paramadurlabhām //
Śatânîka asked :—" Śaunaka, how my ancestor Yayâti who was tenth in descent from Prajâpati married the daughter of Śukra. O, Sage ! I am anxious to hear about it. I am still more anxious to hear the history of the Paurava kings serially. Be gracious enough to relate all that in detail."—4-5.
