In the centre of the hall should be made the doorway measured by sixty four Padas (feet). The height of the temple should be twice its breadth, the plinth should be one-third the breadth and the Garbha (inside) should be half the breadth and walls should be made all round. Taking one fourth of the Garbha as the unit, three times of this will be the Āyata (breadth), twice will be the width of the entrance and it will be built of Udumbara wood. The two Śākhās should be a quarter of the width of the door. There should be 3, 5, 7 or nine Śākhās which will make up the door. The doors are divided into three classes, Kaniṣṭha, Madhyama, and Jyeṣṭha.—18-21.
