*devayānyuvāca
rājāyaṃ nāhuṣastāta durgame pāṇimagrahīt
namaste dehi māmasmai loke nānyaṃ patiṃ vṛṇe //
Devayânî said to her father that the King Yayâti had once grasped her hand, when she was in great difficulty and he should, therefore, dedicate her to him, and that she would marry no one excepting him.—31.
