*yayātiruvāca
adharmo māṃ spṛśedevaṃ pāpam asyāśca bhārgava
varṇasaṃkarato brahmann iti tvāṃ pravṛṇomyaham //
Yayâtî said:—"Bhârgava! By such deeds, I fear, I will commit a sin; I therefore beseach you to parry off the sin of creating a confusion of castes by such intermarriage."—33.
