devakyāṃ jajñire śaureḥ suṣeṇaḥ kīrtimānapi
udāsī bhadrasenaśca ṛṣivāsastathaiva ca
ṣaṣṭho bhadravidehaśca kaṃsaḥ sarvānaghātayat //

Vasudeva begot from his other wife, Devakî :—Suṣeṇa, Kîrtimâna, Udâsî, Bhadrasena, Rîṣivâsa, and Bhadravideha the sixth, who were all killed by the King Kaṁsa, as soon as they were born.—13. Lord Kṛiṣṇa was born on the first Amâvâsya of the year, in the month of Vaiśâkha.—14.
