durdamaṃ damanaṃ subhruṃ piṇḍārakamahāhanū
citrākṣyau dve kumāryau tu rohiṇyāṃ jajñire tadā //
Rohiṇî, of the Puru family, the wife of Vasudeva known as Ânakadundubhi, gave birth to the eldest son, Balarâma, and to his brothers, Sâraṇa, Durduma, Damana, Śubhru, Piṇḍâraka, and Mahâhanu. She also gave birth to two beautiful daughters, named Chitrâ and Akṣî.—11-12.
