nāmatastāni vakṣyāmi śṛṇudhvaṃ munisattamāḥ
brahmaṇābhihitaṃ pūrvaṃ yāvanmātraṃ marīcaye //
Sûta.—Hear, O Ṛiṣis! the names of the different eighteen Purâṇas. I shall enumerate them to you, as they were described to Marîchi by Brahmâ.—12.
