yat tad īśānakaṃ kalpaṃ vṛttāntamadhikṛtya ca
vasiṣṭhāyāgninā proktam āgneyaṃ tatpracakṣate //
8. *The Agni Purâṇa.*—The Purâṇa which commences with the description of the Iśâna Kalpa, and which was a path of virtue revealed to Agni by Vaśiṣṭha, is known as the Âgneya Purâṇa, and contains 16,000 ślokas.—28.
