annadānaṃ yathāśaktyā kartavyaṃ bhūtimicchatā
annahīnaḥ kṛto yasmād durbhikṣaphalado bhavet //

The devotee, anxious for prosperity, should give away also grain in charity, according to his means, because the ceremony without the gift of grain brings famine on the sacrificer and his country.—110.
